Wyndham Ocean Boulevard is an award-winning resort conveniently located on Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach. Whether you find yourself stepping out to the beach, hitting the links at one of Myrtle Beach’s famed golf courses, or if you’re relaxing by one of the Wyndham’s many pools, there’s something for everyone at this popular destination. 

The resort is made up of three large towers that sit right on the water. With a property this large, it can become quite a challenge when it comes to painting and repair projects. The project becomes even more difficult to manage when there’s a deadline to finish the project before the heavy tourism season in Myrtle Beach. 

Tackling Three Large Towers in Only Five Months 

Our Myrtle Beach Renovia team is very familiar with Wyndham Ocean Boulevard, as the 2020 project was the third large scale project completed at the property in just over 3 year’s time. It was our job to continue providing predictable project outcomes, time and time (and time) again. 

For this latest project, we were tasked with a full repaint, full caulking removal and replacement, and a full floor coating on the balconies and corridors. Completing these exterior tasks helped the towers match other previously painted buildings on the property. Not only did that present a challenge to work on these three massive towers, there was also a large interior remodel happening at the same time.

Sticking to the Schedule

With only 5 months to complete all the work at Wyndham Ocean Boulevard, it came down to airtight scheduling and strong project communication. That meant daily onsite meetings for our team, and meeting at least twice a day with the Job Site Supervisor (JSS) and property engineers to keep us on track. 

When communicating to the broader team, we schedule weekly conference calls for all involved parties. That not only kept us on schedule, but it kept owners apprised of the work being completed each week. As for the airtight schedules when tackling three large towers at a single property, we were required to always be running two of the towers to stay within the given schedule. 

This was also aided by accessing the building vertically and horizontally. That means the teams that access corridors would work horizontally, while another team addresses the exterior drops vertically. While this creates speed efficiencies, it also means we had to have two schedules running (corridor and exterior teams) and double the project communication.

Serving as our key barometer for success, this project was completed on time and within the set budget.
