WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EIFS AND STUCCO?
EIFS and traditional Stucco are often confused, which can make it difficult for Renovia’s team to understand what the issue is with the exterior of your commercial building until they physically inspect the property for themselves.
WE SPECIALIZE IN EIFS, STUCCO, AND MASONRY REPAIRS
At Renovia, our team strives to be experts of the “whole” facility — which includes exterior insulation finishing systems. We take great pride in staying up-to-date with industry standards. Our work in EIFS, stucco, and masonry repairs will get your property back in shape and free from leaks or water damage.
Still, looking to learn more about these specific services? Find out what each of these finishes entails and then contact a Renovia representative today about your repair needs.
- Exterior Insulation & Finish System (EIFS)
EIFS is a multi-layer insulation board — made up of a foam insulation board, a coat of synthetic stucco, fiberglass mesh, and then a topcoat. EFIS can also be described as a non-load-bearing cladding system that provides exterior walls with an insulated, water-resistant finished surface. It is also less likely to crack than traditional stucco because of the mesh netting that reinforces the base layers.
- Stucco
Stucco is a mixture of cement or lime-based plaster, sand, and water, making it similar to concrete. Applied in three coats over a lath base, it provides a durable building exterior.
